Friday Favs & Giveaway!!!!

Friday, January 8, 2016

First week after Christmas is in the books and thankfully we're all still alive.  It's been a good week, but it's been a rough one at the same time. Nobody.  And I mean nobody was ready to go back and afternoons have been spent sending grumpy and tired kids off to dance to hopefully be grumpy and tired with someone else.  ;-)

We can only hope.

My computer crashed on Tuesday, 30 short minutes after sharing my January 2016 goals of getting my pictures saved and printed in books or albums.  Nice timing, right?!  Always.

We spent Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday getting down Christmas decorations and I'm still not done.  I'm attempting to go crazy organizing (and purging) things as it is all put back so it has slowed me down some.  And the fact that I'm waiting on the shrink wrap to get here (because we were out and I shrink wrap my trees to get them back in bags and to protect them a little better). John had to make an overnight trip out of town for a meeting and by Thursday afternoon after picking everyone up and running a few errands we came home, curled up with our chick-fil-a and watched movies in my bed.  #noshameinmygame

We did at least swing by Books-a-Million. Anna Claire had a gift card from her birthday she hadn't used and she cashed in on their big sale!  Buy 2 get the 3rd FREE!

My first Friday Favorites of the year simply includes the book Eat, Pray, Hustle by Havilah Cunnington.  As Moms, I know so many of us struggle with the me aspect, taking care of everyone else before ourselves.  My hope in 2016 is that I take more time to focus on me so I can be a better wife, Mama, daughter, friend, sister, aunt, person.....all of it.

Stretching myself too thin the last 5 years has just about done me in.  Spiritually, mentally, and physically.  In 2016 I'm stepping away from some things that I felt like I had to do in previous years and focusing on things I need to do and want to do more.  More being present and dream chasing and less focusing on what I think others think I should be doing.  I want nothing more than for myself and anyone who reads this to step forward in faith and start following your dreams and living.  I'm trading in busyness for peace and going after everything I feel the enemy has stolen in recent years.

{eat, pray, hustle}

Y'all.  I love when a certain book comes along at the perfect time.  Like at the beginning of the year when there is the feeling of a clean slate and an overwhelming desire to start dreaming about the future like I haven't had in ohhhh I don't know.  Forever.  I've been in dream mode all week, rediscovering my dreams (or lack thereof) and reasons why we stop dreaming.  Eat, Pray, Hustle and the online study with Havilah Cunnington has reminded me that my dreams are connected to God's dreams and how all.these.years...All this time he has actually been preparing me, us, you for fulfillment of that God dream.  I'm a dreamer by nature and so many times I have used my own abilities more than the capacity of God.  And too many times those dreams have died because I never could get past my own capacity and allow my God to fulfill the dreams.  To make it relational.  All my life I was told to dream big.  I tell my girls the same thing.  I'm so ready to see where God takes these dreams of mine.  Of my families.  And I can't wait to watch that relationship grow stronger as I lean in and trust in Him.  Leaning more on His capacity and not my own.  Y'all, God wants to dream with us.  Let that soak in for a bit.

I've never done a giveaway and I may never do another one, but I feel so led to give a copy of Eat, Pray, Hustle away.  I absolutely adore Havilah and believe her word from the Lord on chasing dreams is one of the most needed words for 2016, most especially if you are a mother.
