Friday Favorites: Happy 9th Birthday, Anna Claire!

Friday, October 23, 2015

Happy, Happy Friday!  I AM.SO.FIRED up for the weekend.  Mostly because I still haven't recovered from the last one.  We celebrated Anna Claire's 9th Birthday last weekend so I felt it appropriate to make this my Friday Favorite.  I just love some party sass!

We started out birthday morning bright and early opening some family presents.  She had already been given her big gift, a new bike, days earlier.  Partly because I didn't have anywhere to hide it, but mostly because it was the ONLY one left in the exact same perfect color of blue that she wanted.

Ava got Anna Claire this crazy cookie pillow from Justice she had been wanting forever.   Oh, and it's now on clearance for $10.49 which makes buying a $36 cookie pillow from Justice somewhat bearable.  ;-)

Anna Claire and her precious teacher, Mrs. D.

I LOVED taking her class cookies and juice (no cupcakes allowed) and hanging out on the playground!  Such a sweet group!

The A girls are sadly separated by a fence on the playground this year, but I love that they still run over to check on each other.

Birthday love from Audrey!

Papa and Nini's girl

We had her birthday dinner at her favorite little Mexican restaurant.  Because that's what we do for every.single.birthday.

Aunt Kellye, AC, and Nini

Our BIG girl!  How on earth do we have a 9 year old??!

And then the weekend hit and the party started!  Anna Claire wanted a Beanie Boo party so I put one together as best you can do with that....there is not a whole lot of guidance in the Pinterest world for this theme. The lady did really good on the cake.  Anna Claire wanted a large lifelike Beanie Boo cake and that's just what she got!

For a game, we did a Beanie Boo Scavenger Hunt.  I split the girls up in to 2 teams.  They truly loved this game and were back at the exact.same.time.

I had two crafts planned, but crafts became the theme of the night.  They are like chips...once you start, you can't stop.  The first planned craft was making Party Hats for their Beanie Boos!!

It was a crowd favorite as you can tell!  To make the hats, I found a template online and then cut them out with poster board.  They were assembled, glued and ready to be decorated ahead of time.  The girls then added stickers, pom poms, glitter, beads, and more to make their own party hat for their beanie boo.

And what's a good slumber party without a pillow fight??!

After burning off some steam (and the pizza) it was time for cake!  All the Beanie Boos look adorable in their hats.

Oh, how I love that baby girl!

The rest of the party included crafts, dance party, glow in the dark tag in our front yard, movies & popcorn, and finally bed around 2:30 am.  Anna Claire has the sweetest friends and they had the best time!

Saturday morning everyone was up at 7:30.  Because why wouldn't you be when you didn't go to bed until 2:30??!  I made breakfast and the girls worked on the second craft...making Beanie Boo houses out of shoe boxes.

This was another favorite.  I absolutely LOVED watching them get creative with this one.  Some were constructing actual beds and hot tubs and going way further with it then I imagined.  Thank you friends for celebrating our girl with us!

Happy Birthday to our atmosphere changer. To the one who has had and will have all our "firsts." To the girl who can talk in circles and negotiate her way into and out of e'vry thang (just like her Daddy). She's sensitive, precocious, and crazy smart. Strong willed is an understatement. She's our Bigs, our peanut, and booger bear. Our Tennessee girl with the heart of a servant. She desires to please others and and if you're lucky enough for her to know and love you, she'll be your biggest cheerleader! Crazy excited to see what God has planned for this child.

Happy 9th Birthday, sweet love! You make this world such a better place!
