Weekend Wrap Up

Monday, August 31, 2015

Our school lets out on Friday at 2:45 so after pickup it was straight to dance.  The big girls finished up their first week back at the studio at 6:30 and then it was home to play, clean, and enjoy the weekend.

Did I mention our rental is for sale?!  The rental company put a sign in the yard and sent a message asking to show the house Saturday afternoon.  John said I was cleaning the house like it was ours and we were trying to sell.  I can't help it.  I stopped short at writing them a sweet letter and baking cookies.  After all, we haven't even really started on where we want to go or what we want to do.

I love these two dancers!

Saturday morning we got up and ready for the day.  Alli woke up sick.  Yay.

The only positive was that she napped.  She never naps.

Those lashes tho.

Henry boy snuggles.

Ava had a birthday party to attend for her friend Jillian that afternoon and Anna Claire had a birthday sleepover that night for her friend Adia.

Such a fun party!  Photo cred for party pics:  Angela Sieg

Face paint artist did an incredible job!

Ava got to stay and play at Adia's party for a little bit.  When I came back to pick her up, she was jumping on the trampoline, wings off, and wet.

Poor Tink.  Wet, wingless, snotty nosed, and sad to have to leave the party.

Not happy at all.  "Life isn't fair."

Ava calmed down with the offer to have Chick-fil-A for dinner.

Thank you Truett Cathy.  You've saved many a days with your chicken.

By the time we got home, it was close to bed time.  Since Ava was running solo (and Alli was already in bed), Ava got to sleep in the middle.  She's a cuddle bug.

With Alli still sick, just Ava and John went to church.  Anna Claire met them at church and after they came home we had lunch, and the girls played outside.

Someone played in the mud before church and needed a bath and it wasn't Ava!

Flat feet baby!

The rest of the afternoon was spent walking/hiking through our neighborhood and woods.  I use the word hiking because we.have.some monstrous hills.  We grilled with the neighbors and the kids played until it was dark.

Taking a break at the top of a hill.

That was our weekend in a nutshell.  As much as I loved the summer days, I'm loving these back to school days as well.  And the weekends.

Weekends are always so good.

This week for dinner we're having:

Monday: Tuscan White Bean Soup from Gimme Some Oven

Tuesday:  Taco Tuesday, that's pretty much self explanatory

Wednesday: Chicken Broccoli Supreme from Just Get Off Your Butt and Bake

 Thursday: Salad and Baked Potato

Friday: Sloppy Joe from Recipes that Crock

Have a great week!
