Thanksgiving 2014

Monday, December 1, 2014

When we lived in Tennessee, Thanksgiving was always one of my most favorite holidays.  Since we lived so far away, it was always just the two of us plus the girls once they were born.  I have the best memories of John and I having cook offs and bake offs every year.  Truly such special memories.  But I have to admit, it was so nice not to have to worry about it all this year.  We smoked the turkey (which was ah-mazing), I made the broccoli and cheese casserole, and a couple of pies.

This Thanksgiving was spent in Branson with John's parents, Kellye, Sam, Zak, Hannah, and Quin, and Jeff, Becky, & Rhett.

Such a great few days before and after Thanksgiving with this crew.  Counting down the days until we celebrate Christmas!

This kid is a non-stop dance performance.

Our tree had been "up" for two weeks, but life happens.  We scrambled to get it up the days before Thanksgiving.  It's always been a tradition in our home to have it up before then since our elves arrive Thanksgiving morning.  And I just LOVE Christmas trees, Christmas lights, glitter, and of course Jesus.

Alli girl was sick and found her a hole to take a nap while we decorated.

Couch potatoes.

Last one to school and then Thanksgiving break begins!

Back home and writing.  One of her loves!

Evening bike ride on Thanksgiving Eve.

We smoked the Turkey this year, one of our favorite things to do.  Daddy was juicing it up with his secret sauce!  It was AH-mazing!

These three.

We also celebrated Aunt Kellye's birthday with red velvet!  Yum!

I love how he looks at her.!

She's cute even with she doesn't cooperate.

Getting harder to get a smile!

There she is!
