First Day of Pre-K

Wednesday, September 3, 2014

Time, please slow down.  The days and years are flying, y'all.  This little middle of ours just had her last first day of preschool.  Kindergarten next year.  I can't even talk about it.  That lump in my throat is thick.  While I realize Ava is not our only or even our last child to enter school, there is a sense of ending when she passes certain milestones.  Because every experience with Alli is going to be oh so totally different.

I just want to soak this time in.

To breathe in.

To remember every.single.detail of these days.

We're entering a new season.  The baby days are fading fast  and the real season of raising children feels like it's beginning.  My heart pains for those baby days.  For time to just.stand.still.  But it also rejoices with this next season.  I can't wait to watch the lives of these three unfold.  Watch their giftings emerge, see the people they become, watch Jesus miraculously rock their worlds and use them more than I could ever fathom.   Servants, leaders, and just flat out lover of some people, these girls.

But I'd also love to keep them this little just a little longer.

This one.  She's just too much.  Love.her

Alli is trying to figure out why we have her up so early.  Bless it.
