Last Day of 1st Grade

Wednesday, June 4, 2014

I don't want to be cliche and say, "where has the time gone," but seriously, y'all....

Where has the time gone?

We just brought this blondie home from the hospital the other day??!

The picture above and below were taken the week before school ended....for Buchanan's Red Carpet Event.  It was seriously, the cutest idea.  All the students who had met their goals on the NWEA Test were invited to dress up and strut their stuff on the red carpet.  Naturally, Anna Claire ate.this.opportunity.up and put on her feather boas, jewels, and sunglasses for the occasion.  She topped it off by blowing kisses to the paparazzi and crowd. Such a fun idea and great way to celebrate the little scholars!

We could not have asked for a better first year in Branson. And to top it off, we couldn't have picked out a better teacher for Anna Claire's 1st grade year.  Truly an exceptional woman who nurtured and stretched her tremendously this year.  We have been blown away with her reading and writing abilities and are excited to see this side of her flourish in the years to come.

The last day of school was an early dismissal so I grabbed up our Bigs and we headed out for a girls day....Mexican food for lunch, ice cream, and swimming.  Oh how I started missing our home and pool in Tennessee about this time.  :(  Luckily Papa and Nini have a swimming pool in their neighborhood so we headed there afterwards.   And it just so happened that we were staying with them for the week since our house flooded.

That's another story.

We are looking forward to our first official summer in Branson.

Time, PLEASE slow down.   I want to enjoy every.single.second.
