Memories: Prayer

Thursday, October 18, 2012

When I look back over the last two years, and more specifically that first year, one single word always comes to mind....

Our prayers, our pleads, your prayers, your pleads, true intercessory prayer,  the prayers of thousands that went up on behalf of a single child.....a child who was born merely weightless.

Prayer did not change the purpose and circumstances of Alli's birth and life, but God did allow a transaction between life and death many times.  A transaction for us all who walked this journey to see and believe that prayer indeed changes things.  Prayer can change instances.

Probably one of my FAVORITE pictures of.all.time.  This was taken during Alli's first week.  You notice the blackness lying on a a pink blanket?  That was her tiny body, near kidney failure, with her Daddy standing boldly praying over her life.

 John 14:13-14

"And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."
